Originally from Jackson, Chris enlisted in the State Police in January 1990. After graduating from the 107th Trooper Recruit School, he was assigned to Bridgeport Post #37. Subsequent assignments have been to SECID Thumb Narcotics Unit and a temporary assignment to the Training Academy. In 1998 Chris was promoted to the rank of sergeant and assigned to Mt. Pleasant Post #63. In 1999, Chris was assigned back to SECID Thumb Narcotics Unit. In 2000, Chris transferred back to the Bridgeport Post as a desk sergeant and in 2002 was laterally promoted to a detective sergeant at the Bridgeport Post. Departmentally, Chris has received advanced training as a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. In 1998 Chris was awarded the Michigan State Police Meritorious Service Medal for his actions in response to an armed encounter while on patrol.

Chris' active involvement in the Troopers Association began in 2003 when he was elected to the Executive Board as the Region II Detective Sergeant Representative. In 2006 Chris was elected Vice President.

Chris has received extensive training in police officer rights, labor law and labor arbitration, and police union management. He chairs the Association's Public Relations Committee and is directly responsible for the coordination and assignment of the Association's advocates in the discipline process.

Professionally, Chris is associated with the Northeastern Police Academy where he is an instructor in warrantless searches and search warrant procedure. He has attended Jackson Community College. Chris resides in Edenville with his wife Tamie, and grandson Alex.
