Originally from Ontonagon, Jerry enlisted in the State Police in September 1995. After graduating from the 113th Trooper Recruit School, he was assigned to St. Ignace Post #83. Subsequent assignments have been at L'Anse Post #88, and Wakefield Post #87, where he is currently assigned. Departmentally, Jerry has received advanced training as a Field Training Officer, Background Investigator, and Forensic Interviewer.
Jerry's active involvement in the Troopers Association started in 1997 when he was elected as the Post Representative at the L'Anse Post. Jerry was elected to the Executive Board in 2002 as the 8th District Representative. Jerry serves as chairman of the Safety Committee. He has received advanced training in labor law and labor arbitration.
Jerry holds a bachelors
degree in criminal justice from Northern Michigan University. He is actively
involved in the Knights of Columbus and is a certified hunter safety instructor.
Jerry resides in Bessemer.
