
Originally from Union City, Nate enlisted in the State Police in 1995. After graduating from the 112th Trooper Recruit School, he was assigned to Reed City Post #62. Subsequent assignments have been at Detroit Post #29 (Freeway),Metro South Post #25, and the Lansing Post #11 where he is currently assigned. While assigned at both the Detroit and Metro South Posts, Nate has also served on the State Police Motorcycle Unit. Departmentally, Nate has received advanced training as an Advanced Traffic Crash Investigator, Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, Motorcycle Training Officer, and as a Fraud Investigator in the area of fraudulent drivers licenses and identification cards. Nate has been awarded the Michigan State Police Lifesaving Medal as well as the Distinguished Service Citation for his involvement in the investigation and arrest of a serial robber operating in the Southeast Michigan area.
Nate's active involvement in the Troopers Association started in 2002 when he was elected as the Post Representative at the Metro South Post. Nate was elected to the Executive Board in 2003 as the 2nd District South Representative. Nate serves on the Drug and Alcohol Testing Committee. He has received advanced training in the area of police officer rights as well as labor law and labor arbitration.
Nate currently resides in Potterville with his wife Maria and sons Drew and Devin.
