Originally from Gilbert, Minnesota, Steve was raised in Clio and enlisted in the State Police in January 1990. After graduating from the 107th Trooper Recruit School, he was assigned to Jackson Post #17. Subsequently, Steve transferred to Corunna Post #15 (formerly the Owosso Post) where he is currently assigned. While serving at the former Owosso Post, Steve was temporarily assigned to the 1st District Criminal Interdiction Traffic Enforcement Team. Departmentally, Steve has received advanced training as an Intelligence Liaison Officer.
Steve's active involvement in the Troopers Association started in 2001 when he was elected as the Post Representative at the Corunna Post. In 2005, Steve was elected to the Executive Board as the 1st District Representative. Steve currently serves on the Membership Committee and is chairman of the Uniform Equipment Committee and co-chairman of the Elections Committee.
Prior to enlisting in the State
Police, Steve served for just over 3 years in the United States Navy. While
in the Navy Reserve, Operation Desert Storm began and Steve was called back
by the Navy to again serve his country in the reserves. Steve resides in Morrice.
