Originally from Wayland, Tim enlisted in the State Police in September 1978. After graduating from the 95th Trooper Recruit School, he was assigned to New Baltimore Post #24 (now the Richmond Post). Subsequent assignments have been at Detroit Post #29 (Freeway), Hastings Post #58, and Wayland Post #56, where he is currently assigned. While assigned at the Wayland Post, Tim has served as a temporary staff instructor at the Training Academy, instructing for the 116th and 117th Trooper Recruit Schools. Departmentally, Tim has received advanced training as an Evidence Technician, Advanced Traffic Crash Investigator, and as a Field Training Officer.

Tim's active involvement in the Troopers Association started in 1991 when he was elected as the Post Representative at the Hastings Post. In 1997, Tim was elected to the Executive Board as the 5th District Representative. Tim serves as a member of the Transfer Review Board was a member of the Bargaining Team for the 2005-2008 contract. In 2000, Tim received a gubernatorial appointment to the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards where he served for a two-year term. Tim has received advanced training in labor law and labor arbitration. He represents the membership in the discipline process as an Association Advocate.

Tim currently resides with his family in Wayland.
